Atiku's Aide Reacts To Fresh Court Ruling On NDC, Says No Hiding Place For Opposition Under BAT Govt

Media aide to former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Paul Ibe, has reacted to a recent ruling by a Federal High Court in Lokoja setting aside its earlier judgment concerning the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the development as a warning sign for opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a post shared on X on Friday, Ibe alleged that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was pursuing an agenda aimed at weakening opposition parties and entrenching a de facto one-party state.

According to him, the court's decision should serve as a wake-up call for opposition politicians, warning that there was "no hiding place" for those opposed to the ruling government.

"The decision of the Federal High Court Lokoja in setting aside its earlier judgment on the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) should be a wake-up call that there is no hiding place for the opposition as the incompetent and clueless Tinubu sets his sights on enthroning a de facto one-party state," Ibe wrote.

He further claimed that the President's alleged objective was to "obliterate the opposition and destroy our hard-won democracy" if events do not unfold in his favour ahead of the 2027 election.

The presidential aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar urged opposition leaders to close ranks and harmonise their political strengths before the next general election.

"It is not too late for the opposition to harmonize their strengths ahead of 2027 if the Yar'Adua 2.0 President Tinubu is to be retired to either Bourdillon or Iragbiji," he stated.

The comments come amid growing political realignments and heightened activities among opposition figures as preparations for the 2027 presidential contest gradually gather momentum.
