According to a video posted by Arise News on Friday, June 26, 2026, Ikechukwu made the remarks while speaking on the broadcaster's morning programme, where he assessed the preparedness of political parties ahead of the 2027 general election.
He acknowledged that many Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current state of the country but argued that public frustration alone is insufficient to secure victory at the polls.
According to him, opposition leaders have spent much of the last three years criticising the government instead of building the grassroots structures required to win elections.
"What is the drill down of your activity to your frustrated followers in the last three years?" Ikechukwu asked.
He argued that political success depends on sustained organisation rather than public commentary.
"It is not enough to go on television, make statements and criticize the government. Politics requires serious grassroots mobilisation," he said.
Ikechukwu maintained that opposition parties should have spent the period since the 2023 elections strengthening their structures across the country.

"If people are frustrated, what have you done to organize them into a political force that can produce electoral victory?" he asked.
Drawing a comparison with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he said the party had been actively preparing for future elections through organised planning and mobilisation.
"The APC recently held a retreat for its campaign ambassadors. They are planning and preparing while others are still talking," he stated.
He also referred to reports that the ruling party had established extensive polling unit structures.
"They have deployed committees of about 25 people at polling units across the country. That is the kind of groundwork that wins elections," he said.
According to Ikechukwu, elections are not won solely by popularity or social media support but through effective political organisation.
"You don't win elections by assumptions or by believing that public anger will automatically translate into votes," he said.
He stressed that political parties must consistently engage voters at the grassroots if they hope to succeed.
"You must have people on the ground who can mobilise, educate and encourage citizens to participate in the electoral process," he added.
While acknowledging that many Nigerians desire change, Ikechukwu insisted that opposition parties must match public sentiment with concrete political action.
"Frustration is real, but frustration without organisation produces nothing. Somebody has to convert that frustration into votes," he said.
He further argued that building credible political structures requires long-term commitment rather than last-minute campaign activities.
"Winning elections begins long before election day. It requires years of planning, organisation and engagement with the electorate," he stated.
