He noted that despite the change in leadership over the years, Nigeria’s economic and security challenges have continued to worsen rather than improve, raising concerns about governance outcomes since that period.
Oritsejafor made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, where he spoke at length about Nigeria’s political developments.
He defended the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, insisting that much of the criticism directed at him while he was in office was unfair and politically motivated.
He argued that the narratives used to describe Jonathan’s leadership at the time have not matched the realities Nigerians are currently experiencing.
He further turned attention to the present administration under President Bola Tinubu, stating that the country is facing more severe difficulties in key sectors such as the economy and national security.
According to him, the conditions in the country have deteriorated significantly, with citizens experiencing increased hardship and uncertainty in daily life.
He suggested that the promises of improved governance have not translated into the expected outcomes for many Nigerians.
The former CAN leader compared past and present administrations, indicating that the challenges being experienced today appear more complex and widespread than those recorded under previous governments.
He stressed that leadership decisions over time have had lasting effects on national stability, especially in areas relating to economic management and security coordination.
He maintained that the situation calls for deeper reflection on the direction of governance in the country.
He also highlighted what he described as contradictions in political behaviour, noting that individuals who were once vocal critics of Jonathan’s administration are now part of the governing structure.
He implied that such shifts raise questions about consistency in political judgment and accountability.
According to him, the same issues that were previously used to judge past leadership are still present or have become more severe.
Oritsejafor reiterated his concerns about the current state of the nation, pointing to widespread public hardship and ongoing insecurity as major indicators of governance challenges.
He maintained that these issues have continued to affect citizens across different regions, creating a sense of uncertainty about the future.
His remarks focused on the need for leadership that delivers measurable improvement in national conditions.
“The government of Tinubu has done more harm to this nation than this nation has ever experienced,” he said.
