Lere Olayinka Mocks Doris Oganla's Court Drama, Compares It To Woman Who Wanted To Be Buried With His Grandfather

Media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lere Olayinka, has mocked the emotional display by actress and governorship candidate of the AAC in Abia State, Doris Oganla, at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja during the trial of activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

Oganla had joined other supporters of Sowore at the court but was reportedly denied access to the courtroom alongside several others. 

A video circulating online showed the actress weeping and insisting that she must be allowed to enter the court, while protesting what she described as restrictions imposed by operatives of the Department of State Services.

Reacting to the footage, Olayinka likened Oganla's conduct to an incident that occurred during the burial of his grandfather, recalling how a woman had dramatically insisted on being buried alongside the deceased.

He said, “This video reminds me of when my grandfather was to be buried. There was this particular woman that was crying and insisting that they should let her enter the grave and be buried with my grandfather.

“People were holding her until my grandfather's younger sister came, held her hand and took her near the grave and said, ‘O ya bee ni, ko sinu koto hun’ (Now, enter the grave). That was the end of the whole drama.”

Olayinka further took a swipe at Oganla, describing her as a content creator and suggesting that authorities should have simply granted her request if she truly wanted to accompany Sowore to prison.

“The same thing ought to have been done to this content creator. Someone was creating this kind of scene shouting she wanted to follow Cashtivist Sowore and enter prison, una dey stop her, why?

“Why not just open the prison gate and tell her to enter,” he wrote.

The incident has continued to generate reactions on social media, with supporters and critics of Sowore offering differing interpretations of Oganla's emotional outburst at the court premises.
