We Heard Sound Of Amotekun Gun, They Ran With Gun Wounds; I'm Sure One Of Them Will Die-Durojaiye

Fagbonmire Durojaiye, one of the eight victims rescued from kidnappers in Ondo State, has recounted the dramatic moment operatives of the Amotekun Corps stormed the kidnappers' hideout and secured their freedom after days in captivity.

Durojaiye made the revelation during an interview on TVC News, on Friday, 26 June, 2026, where he described how the rescue operation unfolded and praised the swift intervention of the regional security outfit. 

His account comes amid growing concerns over kidnapping incidents in parts of Ondo State and renewed calls for stronger security measures to tackle criminal gangs operating across the region.

Speaking on the operation, Durojaiye said the arrival of Amotekun operatives forced the kidnappers to flee after an exchange of gunfire, creating an opportunity for the captives to escape unharmed.

"We just heard the sound is Amotekun gun and we fell down. They scampered and ran away with gun wounds. We are sure that one will die because the weapon he was carrying was there on the ground."

According to the rescued victim, the captives immediately dropped to the ground when the gunshots began to avoid being caught in the crossfire. 

He explained that the kidnappers abandoned some of their weapons as they fled with injuries sustained during the confrontation with the security operatives.

The successful rescue of the eight victims has been hailed as another significant operation by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, which has played an increasing role in combating kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes across the South-West.
