Speaking during an interview on a Symphoni Television on Friday, June 26, 2026, Ameh argued that Obi's track record in managing public resources distinguishes him from many Nigerian politicians and makes him the best candidate to lead the country in the 2027 general election.
According to Ameh, Obi has consistently demonstrated integrity both in public service and private life, insisting that his reputation for financial discipline is one of the key reasons Nigerians continue to rally behind him.
The Kogi East senatorial candidate maintained that Obi's years in public office reflected a commitment to transparency and responsible management of public funds, adding that the former Anambra State governor had earned the confidence of many Nigerians through his actions rather than mere political promises.
Ameh said his continued support for Obi is rooted in what he described as the former governor's principles, consistency and integrity, noting that he has remained steadfast in backing the NDC presidential candidate because of his belief that Obi possesses the character and competence needed to address Nigeria's economic and governance challenges.
He argued that Nigeria needs a leader who is prepared to protect public resources, make difficult decisions in the national interest and place citizens' welfare above personal gain.
According to Ameh, Obi's record of fiscal discipline and prudent management of public funds has positioned him as the most credible alternative in the 2027 presidential race, expressing confidence that Nigerians would recognise those qualities when they head to the polls.
