When You, As A Sitting Gov, Go To Another State To Impose Your Cronies,There Are Consequences-Fayose

According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Sunday, June 21, 2026, former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, blamed the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West on what he described as attempts by some leaders to control party structures across states.

Speaking during an interview, Fayose reflected on the challenges that affected the party in Ekiti and the wider South-West region. He argued that internal disputes and struggles for influence weakened the PDP and contributed to divisions among members.

Fayose specifically criticized former Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, alleging that efforts to dictate party affairs outside his state had negative consequences. He maintained that political leaders should respect existing structures and avoid actions capable of creating conflicts among stakeholders.

Fayose also mentioned that although Governor Makinde made his first millions at an early age, at that time he was also consistent and doing well in life.

In Fayose's words, "I am eleven years older than Makinde; he was a small boy when he said he made his first million. I didn't make millions, but I was consistent in life and doing well."
