Obi: There Is No Battle At All, This Is Just A Calculated Attempt To Intimidate & Harass Me -Okonkwo

In a recent interview on Channels Television, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, Kenneth Okonkwo, a lawyer and politician, dismissed reports suggesting that he was engaged in a serious legal confrontation with members of the Obidient Movement.

He argued that the developments surrounding the matter were intended to discourage him from expressing his views on political affairs.

Okonkwo maintained that he has always exercised his constitutional right to comment on issues of public interest. He said he remained prepared to respond through the appropriate legal channels if officially notified of any court proceedings.

Speaking during the interview, Okonkwo stated, "There is no battle at all. This is just a calculated attempt to intimidate and harass me."

He made the remark while responding to questions about a reported criminal defamation case linked to his recent comments on opposition politics.

According to Okonkwo, he first became aware of the legal action through social media rather than through formal court documents. He argued that the circumstances surrounding the case reinforced his belief that it was intended to silence him.

The lawyer further emphasized that criticism of public officials and political actors is a legitimate part of democratic engagement. He added that disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and lawful processes rather than intimidation.

He concluded by expressing confidence in the judicial system and reaffirmed his commitment to participating in public discussions on governance and national development.
