Bwala Reacts As Large Crowd Gives Obi Standing Ovation During A Service In Apostle Selman's Church

Daniel Bwala has commented on the warm welcome extended to former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi during his recent visit to Koinonia Church.

As reported by TheCable, a significant number of worshippers stood up to applaud Obi after he was introduced by Apostle Joshua Selman, the church's founder.

This reception gained considerable attention when videos and reports spread, leading Bwala to express his thoughts on his official X account on Monday, August 31, 2026.

In his post, the presidential aide implied that Obi was resuming his political endeavors and using his appearance at the church to further his political agenda.

Bwala criticized Obi, suggesting he had shifted into a role as a content creator and indicated that many who supported him during the 2023 presidential election were now distancing themselves.

He also referenced Obi's former political slogan, “take back your country,” while questioning the appropriateness of addressing political matters in a religious setting.

Bwala wrote on his X account, "I can see that the content creator has written an epistle about who knows what.

He has resumed his 'take back your country' campaign by visiting a church where spiritual issues were discussed to campaign."

Bwala's remarks followed Obi's well-received appearance at the church, which sparked discussions online, particularly among those tracking Obi’s political activities and public engagements.

This incident adds to the ongoing political discourse regarding Obi as the 2027 general elections approach, with supporters closely monitoring his public engagements while critics scrutinize his political strategies.

The situation highlights Obi’s increasing interactions with the public and the varied responses these interactions elicit within Nigeria's political landscape.
