Lere Olayinka Reacts After Peter Obi Demanded Tinubu’s Resignation Following UK’s Starmer Exit

A media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lere Olayinka, has reacted to comments by former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who called on President Bola Tinubu to resign over what he described as worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance in Nigeria.

Obi made the call while reflecting on the decision of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to step down. He argued that leaders should be held accountable when they fail to meet the expectations of the people.

Reacting on his Facebook account, Olayinka mocked Obi’s position. He referred to Obi with nicknames and suggested that the former Anambra State governor had received advice from a mentally unstable person before making the statement.

He noted that he had been conducting business in Ibadan long before Makinde became prominent in politics.

The former governor further pointed to the age difference between them, saying he is about 11 years older than the Oyo governor.

Looking ahead to future elections, Fayose said he and other political figures who are dissatisfied with Makinde’s leadership within the PDP would work together politically. He maintained that his grievances against the governor remain unresolved and suggested that the political battle between both camps is far from over.
