‘The Promoters Of PMP Will Be Sued And Will Face The Consequences Of Their Actions,’ Dr. Ibrahim Ilyasu Speaks On NDC's Legal Dispute

Dr. Ibrahim Ilyasu, a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senatorial aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has said those behind the Peace Movement Platform (PMP) will face legal action over what he described as attempts to operate outside Nigeria's electoral laws....Watch the video here.

Speaking during an interview published on the official Trust TV YouTube channel, Ilyasu addressed the ongoing legal issues involving the NDC and expressed confidence that the dispute would not affect the party's preparations for the 2027 general elections.

According to Ilyasu, the Peace Movement Platform is not a registered political party but an incorporated organisation. He argued that only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has the constitutional authority to register and recognise political parties in Nigeria.

He maintained that any organisation seeking to function as a political party must first satisfy all legal requirements and receive official recognition from INEC before participating in the country's electoral process.

Addressing the controversy, Ilyasu declared, "The promoters of the PMP will be sued and will face the consequences of their actions."
